UIC Liautaud Students Raise $2700+ for Chicago Non-Profit

The MBA Association of UIC Liautaud Graduate School of Business hosted the second annual Moving Business to Act Benefit Social on Friday, March 8th. The event was organized to raise funds and create awareness for The Night Ministry, a non-profit dedicated to offering housing, health care and human connection to members of the Chicago community struggling with poverty and homelessness. MBAA Volunteers Serve Great Tastes at Lincoln Park Community Shelter

Insights into Social Entrepreneurship with Net Impact

Net Impact recently had its kick off event for the fall of 2012. We were very pleased and excited to have the founder of Distant Village come and speak to us about sustainable business practices here in Chicago.  Rich Cohen is the founder of Distant Village. Net Impact Community Service at Lincoln Park Community Shelter

UIC Liautaud students’ organizations volunteer to cook food for the homeless at Lincoln Park Community Shelter once a month. UIC Net Impact hosted the community service event of September. On February 18th, the Community Action Team packed the kitchen of the Lincoln Park Community Shelter to cook and serve a hot lunch to those in need. Ten talented LGSB volunteers prepared baked turkey and cheese panini sandwiches, salad, tomato soup, and brownies with the efficiency of any Chicago restaurant . . .
